The Henries 2014

13 October 2014

For those of you who are unaware of what The Henries awards are- do not assume it has anything to do with the hoover brand. I’ve heard many a description of the awards over the years, but the best one has to be, ‘It’s the Oscars of the Greeting Card Industry.’ The Award ceremony recognizes the best Greeting Card publishers in the industry on a (usually rainy) evening in October over a multitude of different categories, from ‘Best Cute Range’ all the way to ‘Best Giftwrap’ range. A handpicked selection of influential buyers from multiple and independent retailers gather beforehand to meticulously categorise each entry into finalists- of whom the winner is announced at the award ceremony, held at the Lancaster Gate Hotel, Hyde Park, London.

This year The Art File was incredibly honoured to be nominated for a grand total of 4 awards; Best Hand Finished/Handmade range, Best Male Range, Best Art Range, and Best Gift wrap range. Our ever popular FORM range, designed by Elod Beregszaszi lead the way with two nominations for best Art Range and Best Hand Finished/Handmade range, but unfortunately was piped to the post by another range.

Our Trinkets and Trumpets range was once again nominated in the Best Male Range category, of which it was victorious in last year- unfortunately had to hand the winner’s banner over to the Waitrose Male Range.

Our Gift wrap range was a winner though, which was a phenomenal achievement for The Art File on the evening. Mostly designed by our in-house designers, The Art File raced ahead of very well-known Gift Wrap publishers to win the category.

To conclude, The Art File would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted for our Greetings Card and Gift Wrap ranges, and of course to our customers for continuing to allow us to do what we love doing on a daily basis, and we promise to continue making award winning product. This year’s nominations are the most amount of nominations The Art File has ever received in a single year, so we’ll keep steering the ship in this direction…
