Four Tips For Making The Most Out Of The 2022 Autumn Fair
Four Tips For Making The Most Out Of The 2022 Autumn Fair
This Sunday marks the start of the Autumn Fair, one of the biggest UK trade events that brings retailers and businesses together to celebrate all things home, gift and fashion. If you’re a retailer planning to come to the event, here are four tips for making the most out of the fair.
Make Sure You Plan Your Visit
Autumn Fair will be on for 4 days, running from Sunday the 4th until Wednesday the 7th of September. This year the event is being held at the NEC in Birmingham and will be open from 9am to 6pm every day (apart from Wednesday, where the fair will wind down at 4pm).
To make the most of your visit, pick which days you plan on coming to the event and decide what you’ll do during the day. There are various seminars and events happening during the week – if you’re wondering what to do, you can see a timetable of events on the Autumn Fair Website. You can also see an event floorplanwhich will help you navigate the venue on the day!
We recommend bringing your own water bottle so you can stay hydrated throughout the day. Themed cafés serving light snacks and refreshments can be found dotted within the halls, and you can see what type of food will be available on the NEC food and drink page on their website.
Decide How You’ll Get There
It’s easy to get to Autumn Fair by train and by car. If you’re getting the train, you’ll want to arrive at Birmingham International Station. There’s a direct walkway from the station to the Atrium serving Halls 1-5 Birmingham, which takes about 10 minutes. Follow the signs (or the crowds), and you won’t get lost!
If you’re travelling by car, there is free parking at the show, as well as shuttle buses running from the car park to the NEC entrance. Before you hop on the shuttle bus, though, it’s a good idea to take a photo of where your car is parked, or make a note of the name of the carpark you’re leaving it in (they are named with letters, i.e. Carpark F, Carpark G, etc). You could even set a location marker on your phone.
There are numerous carparks at the NEC, each with hundreds of cars parked in each one – it would be quite easy to get to the end of the day and totally forget where your car is, and where to get off the shuttle!
Take A Look At The Exhibitors In Advance
There are hundreds of businesses exhibiting at the Autumn Fair. To avoid missing out on your favourite businesses and products, take a look at the exhibitor list on the Autumn Fair website and make a note of some of the businesses you want to see at the event. You’ll also want to note down their stand number so you’ll be able to find them!
Dress Comfortably & Bring A Spacious Bag
Most of the day will be spent walking and talking. The average trade show attendee walks up to 10km in a day, so you’ll want to make sure you wear comfortable clothing and shoes!
A big part of the event is connecting with other businesses and people. Make sure you bring a spacious bag as you’ll likely want to pick up brochures, leaflets, and other promotional materials. It’s also worth taking some business cards of your own, so you can connect with businesses and secure a place in their contact books.
