CLIC Sargent visits The Art File

28 October 2016

We were absolutely delighted to welcome Amy and Claire from the CLIC Sargent team to Art File head office yesterday morning to talk about the support we give the charity through our Christmas Charity Pack collection, along with discussing exciting ideas and movements from the Charity going into 2017.  48 pence from each charity pack sale goes directly to the charity. We’ve been working with CLIC for over 7 years now, raising just over £80,000 in total.
Today we added to that total by presenting CLIC a cheque for £27,000, which we were absolutely delighted to give them to continue supporting this special charity.

For those that are unaware of CLIC Sargent, they’re a charity that supports young people and teenagers who are facing Cancer. Alongside this, the charity supports the families of those who have been diagnosed also with financial, physiological and social support and care.
Today we visited Billy’s house, one of 10 houses in the UK that are managed by the charity. These houses are close to main Cancer treatment centres at hospitals, allowing families of young people with cancer to stay down in a homely, friendly atmosphere whilst receiving their treatments. This greatly helps families by keeping costs down, keeping the family together, and more importantly giving the young person a sense of normality in their lives. The houses also give the young people an opportunity to speak about their conditions with likeminded people.

CLIC Sargent, like many other charities quietly get on with vitally important work on a day to day basis; supporting young people with Cancer and their families in their hours of need. The Charity continues to strive forward. CLIC Sargent’s mission is to change what it means to be diagnosed with cancer when you’re young. They believe that children and young people with cancer have the right to the best possible treatment, care, and support, throughout their cancer journey and beyond. And they deserve the best possible chance to make the most of their lives once cancer treatment has ended.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our fantastic customers for continuing to support this great cause through our Christmas Charity Packs. Lives are being changed because of you.
